Central Okanagan Search & Rescue

8 COSAR members responded to assist BCAS with an evacuation of a male subject complaining of shortness of breath.  COSAR was stood down when EHS was able to access the patient via City of Kelowna parks staff.

14 Penticton and 4 Central Okanagan SARmembers responded to rescue two motorists stuckin the snow approximately 10 km up the Chute LakeRoad. Both subjects were rescued in good conditionby the SAR team.

15 Central Okanagan SAR members responded to locate an Alzheimer's patient in the Kelowna area. The subject had been waiting for his wife in the car when he walked away. Subject was located alive and well.

9 COSAR members responded to investigate "help help" written in a snowbank off paved area on Philpott Road. Invistigastion resulted in the suspission that the message was written perhaps by a person or group of people that had become stuck in their vehicle, as noted by the debris, and the deep ruts in the snow.  The circumstance was checked out, and two sets of snow shoe tracks leaving the location were followed through to their conclusion to confirm no one was still in distress. There were no missing person reports that could be associated either. 

COSAR was stood down while mustering to search for two stranded youth males, off of Chute Lake Rd, near Lebanon Lake, when the RCMP were able to escort the individuals out safely to waiting Police cars.

Central Okanagan SAR responded to retrieve an abandoned snowmobilefrom up a logging road in the Graystokes area that had resulted in a search on Jan 18 2013 where no conclusive information was obtained on the whereabouts of the operator.

COSAR was stood down while mustering to search for a missing female and her two dogs near the Telemark cross country ski area.  SAR was stood down when the subject made it out safely.

5 COSAR members respond to assist BC Ambulance service with a Male in possible Cardiac Arrest on the Telemark cross country ski trails.  The Coroner was called in when alll efforts to save the subject failed.

1 Central Okanagan SAR, 10 Vernon SAR and 5 Kelowna Fire Marine Rescue members responded to search for the driver of a vehicle that went into Wood Lake near Oyama. SAR members were stood down when RCMP reported they had interviewed an individual on scene, who advised he was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
