13 members from Central Okanagan and Vernon SAR responded with Kelowna Marine Rescue to assist with a possible drowning on Okanagan Lake. Subject was located by the RCMP helicopter, recovered and turned over to the Corner.
10 COSAR members responded along withKelowna Fire to rescue an injured hiker who hadsustained an injury hiking down a very steep,unstable embankment near Fintry Landing. SARwas stood down when BCAS was able to walk thesubject out.
10 COSAR members responded to search for amale and female who were reported missing afterthey did not return from a late night ATV ride in theOyama Lake Road area of Lake Country. Thesubjects were located deceased and were turnedover to the Coroner.
14 Central Okanagan SAR members and 3 Kelowna and 6 Peachland Marine Rescuemembers responded following a report of an overturneddingy/raft on Okanagan Lake. SAR were stooddown. The raft turned out to be a ski tube that flewoff a boat that did not turn around to pick it up.
10 COSAR members assited 17 members form Vernon SAR in a search for a male who was presumed drowned while attempting to rescue 3 children in Wood Lake. COSAR was stood down en route when the Decesed male was located by Veron SAR and turned over to the Corner.
9 Central Okanagan SAR and 5 Penticton SARmembers responded to assist RCMP with awheelchair bound special needs youth that wentmissing in the Mount Boucherie area of WestKelowna. SAR was stood down after the subjectwas located unharmed.
17 Central Okanagan SAR members and 3 convergent volunteers participated in the search for a missing 65 year old male suffering from dementia and Down Syndrome. The male was located in good condition and transferred to BCAS for assessment.
