69 PEP Air members from SWE and CTL regions
responded at the request of JRCC to search for a
helicopter with one pilot on board, reported missing
between Princeton and Wood Lake. 5 Central
Okanagan ground SAR assisted with site security.

39 members from Vernon, Kamloops, Salmon Arm,
Central Okanagan along with a dog and handler
from Revelstoke SAR, responded to help locate a
missing 80 year old male near Zettergreen Rd. in
Grindrod. Subject was located by the K-9 team and
returned safely to his home.

300 Sparwood SAR, Elkford SAR, Cave Rescue,
PEP Air, Pincher Creek SAR, Crowsnest SAR,
Fernie SAR, Cranbrook SAR, Creston SAR, BC
Trackers, Kimberley SAR, South Columbia SAR,
Columbia Valley SAR, Penticton SAR, Central
Okanagan SAR, Prince George SAR, CISM, Ridge
Meadows SAR, and Coquitlam SAR, along with 85
ESS and 1,804 convergent volunteers responded to
search for a 3 year old boy taken from his home in
Sparwood. The extensive search prompted RCMP
to issue an Amber Alert. The 3 year old was
dropped off at his unoccupied residence by the

8 COSAR members were called upon to assist
BCAS in locating 3 young males in Myra Canyon.
SAR were stood down when the subjects made it
out safely on their own.

8 Central Okanagan and 2 Penticton SAR members
responded to search for a missing female in the
Kelowna area. She was located uninjured and
turned over to RCMP.

While in the area, 1 COSAR member assisted 15
Comox Valley SAR members responded to report
of a male that collapsed because of possible
cardiac arrest under a bridge at Stokum Falls.
Subject was located deceased and transferred to
the coroner.

6 Central Okanagan SAR members responded to
rescue an injured 12 year old motor cross rider from
the Bear Creek Riding Trails near Kelowna. The
subject suffered 2nd degree burns and was
transferred to BCAS for assessment and transport
to hospital.

8 Central Okanagan SAR members responded to
rescue two stranded males on Blue Grouse
Mountain near Kelowna. The two males were
located near the lookout where their truck had
become stuck after they took a wrong turn.

8 COSAR members were called out to rescue a 32
year old male reported to be suffering heart failure in
Okanagan Mountain Park near Deeper Creek. SAR
members rescued the patient who was transferred
to BCAS for treatment and transport.

19 Central Okanagan SAR members responded to
search for a 3 year old girl that went missing from
her residence on Graham Road. They were stood
down when the child was located hiding inside the
house.
