COSAR Fundraising

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue is heavily dependent upon the financial support of the community. We are a non-profit organization and all team members are volunteers. Money raised through donations and sponsorships goes towards the maintenance of team vehicles and equipment, restocking medical supplies, and the purchasing of essential pieces of search and rescue equipment. Every dollar raised makes a difference in our ability to save lives.

We Need YOUR help: Building Project

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue has started the search for a new home.

At the request of the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO), COSAR recently had a formal Buildings Needs Analysis Report prepared by a third party.

The report found:

The current building is at its end of life and It requires constant maintenance and repair
There is insufficient room to store equipment
Its location is not central to our callouts
The meeting room is too small
The water supply is non-potable

COSAR is currently waiting for an RDCO committee to present possible options for the team to consider.

In order to ensure that a location and building that meets our long term growth needs is obtained, COSAR is looking to the community that we serve for support. Needed support comes in many forms: financial, professional expertise, and land or building opportunities.
