Lost Geologist near Chute Lake

Right at suppertime on Valentine’s Day, COSAR volunteers were dispatched to assist the RCMP in locating a lost, cold and wet amateur geologist near Chute Lake.

Just as dusk changing to dark, the RCMP helicopter spotted the person and were able to guide an officer on the ground to him. Both were able to return to the RCMP vehicle that was stuck on a nearby FSR.

COSAR remained on backup, and resources to retrieve the officer were enroute, when the officer was able to get their vehicle unstuck and returned with the subject  back to Kelowna.

Everyone was back home by 9:00pm to continue their Valentine’s Day.
